The entry into Canada of UN 2814 - Infectious substances, affecting humans, and UN 2900 - Infectious substances, affecting animals only, is subject to the requirements of the Health of Animals Act (1990, c.21) and the Human Pathogens Importation Act (2009) and Regulations (SOR/94-558) respectively, and prior approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and/or the Public Health Agency of Canada is required.
